Law Maker Kidnapped In Kaduna, N70m demanded as Ransom
Hon. Ibrahim Samaila, a member representing Tudun wada local government in Kaduna State house of assembly was reportedly kidnapped today by group of unknown gun men.
Reports say Hon Samaila who is the Chairman House Committee on Education was allegedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Tuesday around Abakpa community in Kaduna North Local Government Area of the state.
According to an eye witness, the kidnappers came in separate before they later on merged to execute their mission. “the first set of kidnappers came in a Sienna car and within few seconds other gang members joined them and took the lawmaker away.”
He added that, “the kidnappers armed with sophisticated weapons, shot a pure water distributing van which was passing-by, thinking that, the vehicle wanted to block them.”
The kidnappers have demanded 70million naira to be given to them as a ransom while warning the family members to not involve police in the matter.
Kaduna Police Command Spokesman, ASP Aliyu Usman confirmed the incident, saying that the technical and anti-kidnapping squad of the command were already on the trail of the kidnappers.
A family source said, the abductors made the lawmaker to speak with his wife. Hon. Samaila, a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), was elected lawmaker during the 2015 general elections.
